Strap in, Illumineers - Fabled is here, and it’s shaking up the game in ways both nostalgic and bold.
What Is Fabled & When Does It Drop
-
Fabled is the ninth expansion in Disney Lorcana.
-
It has a two-stage release: pre-release on August 29, 2025, then widespread release from September 5, 2025.
What’s New in Fabled
Fabled isn’t just another set — it brings in major shifts. Here are the big changes and features to get hyped about:
-
New Rarities: Epic & Iconic
-
Epic cards are introduced: rarer than Legendary, but still more common than Enchanted.
-
Iconic cards are super rare — only 2 per set. These have full-card artwork, custom lore star foil patterns, 3D hot-stamp effects.
-
-
Reprints of Early Cards
-
Fabled includes a lot of returning cards from the first four sets of Lorcana. Cards that were rotating out are getting reprinted so you can still use your favourites.
-
The set is ~ 204 cards total, with 33 brand-new cards and 171 reprints.
-
-
Rotation Format Begins
-
With Fabled, Lorcana officially starts a rotation system: only certain sets will be legal in the standard competitive format.
-
The first four sets (The First Chapter; Rise of the Floodborn; Into the Inklands; Ursula’s Return) will be rotated out of Standard Constructed. But don’t fret: there’s still a format (Infinity Constructed) for lovers of the older cards.
-
-
Decks & Themes to Look Out For
-
Two new starter/preconstructed decks are part of the launch: one themed around A Goofy Movie (featuring Goofy, Max Goof, Powerline) and another princess-themed deck.
-
Lots of classic Disney characters are back (Mickey, Minnie, etc.), plus some new franchises making their Lorcana debut.
-
Tips to Maximise Your Fabled Drop
-
Preorder if you can – Boxes and booster packs tend to sell out fast with new rarities in play.
-
Know what you want – If you love a specific franchise or rarity, decide early (starter decks vs. singles).
-
Sleeve & protect any new Iconics or Enchanted cards — they’ll be the crown jewels.
-
Follow product lists & spoilers ahead of time — helps avoid buying duplicates or chasing guts.

Why Fabled Matters for the Future
Fabled is more than just another expansion. It’s Lorcana’s way of saying: time to reset, bring the meta in line, give collectors fresh goals, and make entry easier. New rarities like Epic and Iconic add layers to collecting; rotation means staying engaged with current content matters more.
At Just Pulled, we’re excited about what Fabled means: new opportunities for decks, fresh chase cards for collections, and a cleaner competitive environment.
